July 2022: Chinese electric car brand, BYD, overtook Telsa in total sales of EVs, thanks to its performance in the first half of 2022, to become the world’s largest electric car maker. According to a Financial Times report, BYD sold 641,000 vehicles in the first six months of the year, against Tesla’s 564,000 vehicles. BYD now has the most market share in electric vehicles.
