The update to these 2018 flagship devices come with the new and improved One UI 2.0 custom user interface and the January 2020 Android security patch. This Android 10 upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ is in sync with Samsung’s overall schedule for their planned updates in 2020. Reports from SamMobile indicate that the Android 10 OTA is already arriving for Galaxy S9 and S9+ users in Germany and the USA. The Android 10-based One UI 2.0 update separates certain apps from the UI update channel, making these apps require separate individual updates. The update will be available exclusively to international and Xfinity Mobile users. The Samsung Galaxy S9 Android 10 update comes about a month after Samsung rolled out Android 10 updates for the Galaxy Note 9. The S9 series originally launched with Android Oreo, then later got updated to the Android Pie OS in the later part of 2018 and early 2019. Samsung has released Android 10 updates for the Galaxy S10, S10 Plus, S10E, Note 10 and the Note 10 Plus phones. It remains to be seen what other Samsung devices will receive updates in the year 2020. References
